Three Productivity Tools to Help You Work Smarter

We’ve all had those days where we just can’t seem to focus on our to do list at work. It seems like it especially creeps up on us when we have the most work to do! Well, there are some great web-based programs and applications available to help you fight off distractions and increase your overall work productivity. These tools are especially helpful if you work in a self-motivated work environment like a web design Miami company, or Miami Internet marketing agency. Here are three of the best productivity tools:

1) Coffee Break – This is a great app for Mac users. You can use it as an app on your Smartphone or tablet, or you can use it as an iOS application. The app gives you friendly reminders to take breaks. This may not seem like a productivity tool, but it can allow you to cover the clock on your computer and completely focus on your work. You can set it to send a sound alert, or dim the screen when it’s time to take a break. If you stick to the breaks you schedule for yourself, you can immerse yourself in your work and stop looking at the clock. The app costs $0.99.

2) Pomodoro Technique – The technique itself has been around since the 80s when Francesco Cirillo developed it. He believed that people were the most productive when they worked in 25-minute intervals. Now there is a free Android and iOS app based on the technique that helps you split up your work into reasonable sections. It will alert you when to take a break, so it has a similar concept to Coffee Break. This app is Free!

3) RescueTime – This is a web-based tool that will allow you to analyze your activities and also block potential distractions. Once certain sites and applications have been identified as potential threats to your productivity, they will be blocked or hidden while you are in “Focus Mode.” You can set the focus timer for any amount of time you like. You can try a free 14-day trial to start, but after that, RescueTime costs $6 a month.
